The easiest way to avoid a scam is to realize that it's an attempt to scam from the get go. Three of the most common scams involving winnig prizes out today are.

1) After entering your information the company will ask for your cell phone number (often in small print it will tell you that you will be charged) by entering your cell phone the company will bill you via your phone company for text messages it will send you.

2) You will recieve a phone call, the caller will say something to the affect of you have won Coca Cola's (or some other huge company) million dollar sweepstake, the caller will give you a phone number to call to verify and claim your huge prize, it will start out as 1-800, 1-809, 1-900 etc once you have made the call they will charge you an absurd amount of money via your phone bill.

3) ANY AND EVERYTHING FROM NIGERIA IS A SCAM!

There are as many scams in the world as there are dissreputable people. The prize blog will never support any of them, we pre-screen every sweepstake, however if a scammer has your information via a sweepstake on the prize blog or you beleive one of the sweepstakes to be a scam please contact us immediately so we can remove their information. And possibly counter harass the scammer.
